Wal-Mart, Not So Low Prices

WalMart Digital Print

Target Photo Price

With a slogan that says "Always Low Prices, Always", Wal-Mart often claims they have the lowest prices.

That is not necessarily true, as I discovered yesterday.

With the same Kodak PictureMaker kiosk, a regular 4x6 print from digital media is $0.28 at Wal-Mart, while Target only charges $0.20. That is almost 30% saving by printing at Target.*

An 8x10 print at Wal-Mart is $4.74 per print, and the same is only $2.99 at Target, almost 40% saving.**

Target also offers Kodak Premium prints of 4x6 with Kodak ColorTouch at $0.29 per print.

I am also proud to say that I have not purchased anything from Wal-Mart, or I have been Wal-Mart-Free, for over 5 years.

* [(0.28-0.20)/0.28]*100% = 28.57%
** [(4.74-2.99)/4.74]*100% = 36.92%

  2. You also don't have to deal with Megalomart's draconian copyright policies.
    I wanted to print an old picture from the 1860s and they told me I'd need a release from the photographer.
