Conan O'Brien Laughed at Gates during CES 2005

At CES 2005, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates ran into more than his share of problems. Here's a clip of him on Conan O'Brien's show, which underscores the theory that if something can go wrong, it will.

  1. On a somewhat similar note... Apple just announced a low end, ~$500 Mac called the Mac mini.

...maybe Biil needs one of those. :-P

  2. The last thing anyone in the world needs is a Mac. =^P

  3. THe 500$ mac is an mp3 player really, check your email maybe. Its got 256 megs of ram and a video card 3-4 years out of date, once again, something I would buy if I was RICH and had nothing left to buy.

  7. Heh, even Bill Gates says yup. Somewhere under that hands-rubbing, nervous, unstable looking megageek is a person.

As a bit of an audiophile, I don't think the Mini will have good sound at all. Those jacks are shaky at best, I expected to at least see an optical output on the mini, but alas. The idea of a computer that doesn't look out of place or take its own desk is one we've all been looking forward to, unfortunately Apple has delivered disappointing hardware for the job.

I'd watch this space, it shows a lot of promise, but for now, forget the mac mini!

  9. I cannot believe you guys! If you want to slam Apple and the Mac Mini, prudence would suggest that you _Don't_ do it directly under a video where Conan O'Brien makes fun of Bill Gates because some Windows media box failed to work in front of thousands of people.

I don't recall hearing that happening at Macworld...

  10. Nothing wrong with macs. The age-old pc vs amiga vs mac vs atari -war :D

    Grow up people :D

If you don't like OS X, don't use it.

As long as you don't think Windows would be any better :D

I use a PC with XP, yes, but it doesn't mean I don't realize the Mac OS X and the mac hardware are fundamentally way ahead.

For me, it's the software that counts, so I'm stuck with XP...

It doesn't hurt to look out for information before you start flaming. Compare the PC and Mac on hardware level and you'll see. Oh, and the first one who'll mention "more megahertzz" is right out ;D

  11. interesting how the PC people get on and start knocking the Mac......if they only had a clue. I mean, it's rather obvious they haven't used MacOSX or they'd realize just how ignorant their comments are. I work in a fortune 500 company and I am forced to put up with Windoze at work but it really is a pleasure to go home and do my "real" work on a Mac - a machine that never crashes, never get's a virus - it just Works which is alot more than I can say for Windoze

  12. I run XP, and I have never run into viruses or any problems as you seem to imply that XP users have.

imo MS and Mac are both crap. Everyone should be using Linux.

  14. You need to see the full length presentation. Microsoft hid all the really good stuff.

I'm not a Connan fan but he was on a roll that night...
