Friendface

I used this clip to test Flickr's video upload feature, where users can upload videos size up to 150 MB and 90 seconds in length. It was intro to Channel 4's The IT Crowd (season 3, episode 5) mocking the popular social networking site, Facebook.

Since the show's broadcast is only limited to UK, full episodes are not available on its website (unless users use an UK proxy). Channel4 did post bits and pieces of its show in YouTube.

The best resource I have found to download episodes is to use Vuze & PeerGuardian. PeerGuardian is especially useful for protecting users' privacy when downloading.

LG W1952TQ Monitor Drivers

I recently purchased a LG W1952TQ monitor to replace my aging 17" ViewSonic. This monitor was on sale at Fry's Electronics for $149.99, while Amazon.com was selling it for $189.89 and $159.99 at Newegg.com.

Although the monitor did come with a CD, I was surprised to find the actual driver files themselves are not available for download from LG's website. Unless the user would also install LG's forteManager 3.xx, which is just another bloatware.

lg_w1952tq.zip

In the linked zip file above, it contains three essential driver files for W1952TQ:

W9152.CAT
W1952.ICM
W1952.INF

Remember kids, a bloatware-free PC is a happy PC.

Iron Man vs. Bruce Lee

Regardless of who wins, one thing is for sure: French-Canadian filmmaker Patrick Boivin, the man behind this short clip, sure knows how to make an excellent stop motion animation!

Squeal Happy Whores

This is definitely safe for work.

It is PG Porn by James Gunn, which ironically does sound like an actual porn star's stage name.

"For people who love everything about Porn... except the sex."

Gatorland, Orlando, Florida

I spent last week in Orlando, Florida.

One place I visited was Gatorland, and it was awesome. First of all, to truly represent its tackiness, the main entrance is an exaggerated concrete alligator head.

My favorite alligators are Mr. Stumpy:

and Mr. Nub:

I like to think if Mr. Stumpy was human, he probably will be loitering around freeway exits with a cardboard sign saying "veteran, please help, god bless". Where Mr. Nub lost his arm in a ridiculous arm-wrestling mishap.

During one of Gatorland's shows, the resident alligator wrestler Johnny fooled around with one so-ever tame alligator:

From his facial expression as if he is thinking: "This is all fucked up. I can't believe I have doing this for those god damn tourists. This gator's breath is terrible. What the fuck does it eat all day?"

Later Johnny pretended he was Britney Spears in 2001 MTV award by posing with an albino boa:

Terrible Hotel, Days Inn (Kirkman & International)

Dear Travelocity,

During my recent trip to Orlando, I was extremely disappointed with the hotel (Days Inn, 5858 International Dr., Orlando, FL 32819).

To illustrate my point, I have attached a photo of the room I stayed in, #538.

As you can see, there is a piece of carpet has been burnt from the floor in the shape of an iron, yet the hotel did nothing about it. This shows you the quality of hotel your company chose to do business with.

Secondly, the WIFI did not work at all. When I first contacted hotel's front desk, they informed be that WIFI signal is not strong due to my room's location and suggested me to come to the lobby. When I did get there, the WIFI is still nonexistent. After two days of this, I have finally gave up and walk across the street to La Quinta Inn.

Please forward my comment to Days Inn corporate office.

If you or Days Inn would like to discuss this in person, I am available via mobile phone at ###-###-####.

Regards,

Tian
